Sam Wuschenny

I am sorry to have to bring you the news that Sam Wuschenny suffered a sudden and severe stroke on June 10.  Ray Wuschenney, Sam's son has informed me that he has been in and out of a coma since that time but does appear to be improving.

Ray and Sam have been long time SWT members and if you recall, when the Fort Qu'Appelle tournament was cancelled Ray, Sam and Gil White stepped forward to restart this event and ran their first tournament last year.  The event wasn't without glitches but they pulled it off and even though water conditions confined the tournament to Katepwa and Mission the fishing was as good or better than I can remember on those two lakes.

Ray and Gil are committed to make this tournament a success this year and are being optimistic that Sam's health will improve to the point he will be able to attend the event.

Up until his stroke Sam was working hard to make the 2013 tournament a success and remember this is for us the anglers.  Sam's birthday is on July 25th and Ray is hoping that he can give Sam a special gift by telling him the they have met their goal of 100 teams.

In addition to your thoughts and prayers, please consider entering this tournament early and help to bring back that smile we see in the picture above.

Pass this on to your tournament friends and maybe to those that may consider making this their first tournament.
